Luang Nam Tha

Then I am planning to stay 2 to 3 days there in order to do a trek and go to meet the different tribes of the region.

There are different tribes which are the Lantien (family of Miengs), Hmongs, Akhas and Khamus.

It will be time to rest in a guest house and some travelers advise the one called Tie Dam which costs 50000 kips a night (approximately 6 euros) or the Zuela Guesthouse at 70000kips (8 euros).

They is an agency in the Zuela guesthouse and there; they organise treks. For the 3 days trek, with food and drinks included, it costs 35 euros, which is very good. Then I might opt for this solution. It will be interesting to find people to share the trip.

After the trek, it would be nice to see the night market and eat there.

Then it will be time join Luang Prabang which is apparently the most beautiful region of Laos. In order to do it I will do 2 stops.

Muang Khua:

First I will move to Muang Khua in bus. It costs 120000 kips per person 13 euros. It takes 4 hours to get there, and it will be nice to walk around the city, eat there and sleep in the nice guesthouse Manotham which costs 70000 kips.

Muang Ngoi Neua:

Then on the next day, we will take the boat for Muang Ngoi Neua. It costs 100000 kips and the departure is at 9.30AM. Here I should get a nice experience. I will be able to see the local life from the boat in the middle of the river.

For the night, I spotted a guesthouse called Nicksa’s Place. I will then ask the directions when I will arrive to Muang Ngoi Neua.

To eat, it is advised to eat in the street where they are doing some nice sausages.

Then, from there, I will have to go to the station and take the bus to Luang Prabang. It costs 30000 kips. I will try to find a couchette bus where I can be confortable during the trip.
