26th October 2015 – 31st October 2015
Turkey will be the first stop in my journey.
I will be flying on the 26th October from Andrezieux-Boutheon airport in France and I will stay until the 29th in this city.
One of my French friend is coming with me there in order to visit the place with me. I have been in Turkey before but I cannot remember and it was in Antalya which should be different from Istanbul.
Also, I am very happy since I know that I will see a Turkish friend who was studying with me at Royal Holloway during my Master. She is living in Istanbul and she will then show me all the nice places there.
Where we will stay ?
With my friend, we found a convenient and economic solution which seems pretty good. We chose to stay in the Downtown Istanbul Hostel in the centre of Istanbul. This hostel is located in Beyoglu/Karakoy, only 2 minutes away by walk from Galata, and 5 minutes from Galata bridge. Close from the tube and from many attractions such as Kadiköy, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Spice bazaar, the place is perfectly located.
We will arrive from the Sabiha Gökçen airport. which is located about 50 minutes away from the centre. The easiest and cheapest way for us will be to take the Havas bus from the airport which costs 13 Turkish Lirra (less than 4 euros) The bus is stopping in Taksim, then the hostel is located only less than 2 km away as you can see on the map below; so we can walk there in order to explore the surroundings. Otherwise, if we are too tired, we can take a taxi up to the hostel which costs around 6 or 7 Turkish Lirra.
